Quilt Show
Last weekend was the Outdoor Quilt Show in Temecula, Ca.
It was very hot, but it is always a delightful walk through town,
with unusual shops, antiques and especially all the beautiful quilts about.
Although I did not man the camera, my husband got a wonderful
sampling from the day. Thanks Honey.
ENJOY
Beautiful small calendar quilt & very small US flag |
Pink & brown baby quilt hanging in front of The Quilter's Coop |
Reminded me of my mother-in-law who loved turtles. |
The quilts just look so natural hangin around town |
A sampling in front of the quilt shop |
A delightful collection of snowmen. |
I try to attend each year, usually with my mom, husband and any
daughters and their families that can attend (it's about the half way
point between our home and two of our daughter's homes)
My mom was unable to attend, but I did get to see
my youngest daughter and her friend,
which made the quilt show extra special.
Thanks S & B and little M for hanging with me.

Birthday Babies
A little while ago
this little cutie turned
one
So of coarse she
had to have this
and
then over the next six weeks
a couple of her
birthday girl friends
needed these
That's what grandmas are for,
making dollies for
special little girls.
I found the pattern here.

Top finished
I'm done!
I'm done with the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along.
I usually don't like sampler quilts but I really like how it turned out.
It was good to go outside of my
little box and stretch a bit.

Watching the groups progress in flickr was inspiring and added to the fun.
I like it and yet I know that when it is quilted I will love it.

Bean Bag
My youngest daughter asked if I would make her a bean bag,
not thinking she was serious, I agreed.
She chose fabrics and I realized she wasn't kidding.
I used the pattern from making it fun which is the
blog for Michael Miller fabrics. It was pretty easy and a
lot of fun to make. Where to find the filler was a problem,
but I ended up buying an inexpensive
bean bag at Target and used the filler.
It worked out perfectly and I even have filler left over.
It now resides with her two hours away from me.
It's pretty cute, I wonder if she uses it?

Just Do It
I've been very busy......but If I want to get more comfortable blogging
I will have to work on it.
So it's a small goal. Here goes.
Isn't she beautiful : )
She is my very first Jelly Roll. Yes, that's right, I have been quilting for a very long time and NEVER used a jelly roll or had the desire to. I joined a Jelly Roll Sampler group involving a new quilt block every two weeks designed by a different person, using a jelly roll. Sounds doable, fun and how hard can it be. We started awhile ago and we are now on block six, but here are my first two blocks.
I'll post a couple more soon. : )

Verna Give Away
No, I'm not ready to have a giveaway but.....
While I am slow to get this blog started
(still learning the end/outs and how to post a photo etc...ugh!)
I've been poking around and ended up on a lovely blog.
Amy of Park City Girl not only has a wonderful blog,
but is posting about a fabulous giveaway from Burgundy Buttons,
a fairly new fabric shop.
Burgundy buttons specializes in precuts and is offering a verna jellyroll.
Verna is such a beautiful, happy line of fabric.
Go on over, visit both blogs and enter to win!

I'm joining in
February 1, my very first post.
I quilt and knit and have been inspired by many wonderful blogs. What a wonderful way to connect with other quilters while keeping a record of what I am working on.
I joined an I spy swap. We are swapping 6.5 inch squares, so I am sending in 8 prints, ten squares each. I don't have alot of access to a variety of novelty fabrics and really, novelty is not my thing. I think they are adorable, I just can seem to figure out what to do with them. I have plans........2 I spy quilts! This is what I sent in.
